"The new year marks new beginnings"

This is a statement we hear EVERY SINGLE YEAR once we reach December 31st. Majority of the time, come January 1st, we are still in the same spot that we were before the clock hit 12:00. The new year most likely doesn't change our circumstances, but I think we can see it as an opportunity to change our mindset.

Let's be honest, life doesn't exactly go our way all the time. I think it's how we choose to look at our circumstances that makes the difference between being content through our situations or letting it overwhelm us. I am a strong believer that God has a reason for everything, even if that reason is sometimes hard to see. Something that is a struggle and obstacle right now, you may eventually look back on as being a blessing.

Maybe all the New Year means for you is the decision to have a change in mindset. Your situation and circumstances may not have changed, but how you let it affect you can. Finding strength and contentment through everything is a mental decision. That being said, it doesn't instantly happen and you have to work at it, but like anything else, all it takes is a little practice. And the best thing to do to practice is just to spend time in the word. The closer our relationship with God gets, the smaller our worldly problems seem.

Happy New Year everyone! And we pray that this is your best year yet!
